Help Lead Callilou to Her Angel

In honor of November’s “Adopt a Senior Pet Month,” K9 4 KEEPS has brought Callilou into our rescue. We believe she is about nine years old. She is in excellent health and is spayed and up to date on her shots. And she is one of the sweetest, happiest dogs any of us have ever met.
She was found as a stray and ended up at Chicago’s Animal Care and Control. There, volunteer after volunteer fell in love with her. Her sweet disposition and gentle soul landed her a place on the adoption floor too…where she sat waiting to meet her forever family. Unfortunately, the older dogs are often overlooked for a younger dog, so Callilou was passed over time and time again. We heard about her story and were honored to bring her into our K9 4 KEEPS family and help her find her forever home.
This sweetie is up for anything…a game of fetch or simply relaxing by your side. There is something extra special about her that defies description. The closest we can get is to say that with her precious smile and beautiful spirit, Callilou is destined to be someone's perfect companion.

“I’m writing this email to thank whomever was instrumental in pulling Callilou from CACC. I was there yesterday - I walked into the adoption pavilion and saw a dedicated volunteer I met on a previous visit. I asked her if Callilou was still there and she said “No, I think she was pulled on Saturday.” Our eyes welled up and we found ourselves hugging each other with happiness and relief. So much communicated in that embrace…truly an iconic rescuer’s moment.”
